All About Me!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Lindsey Faircloth. I was born and raised in Clinton, NC which is about an hour in between Raleigh and Wilmington. It is a small town and I am currently teaching 1st grade here at L.C. Kerr Elementary School. My husband, Neil, and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary yesterday! I am very close with my family and most of them live right here in Clinton. I have one sister. She is very outgoing and fun loving and we enjoy spending time together.

On the weekends and in the summer I spend a lot of time at Topsail Beach. I love going to the beach, reading, shopping, hanging out, with friends, and attending Grove Park Baptist Church. I enjoy being involved and I keep myself pretty busy.

When it comes to the classroom, I love math. I have always enjoyed it throughout my school career and to this day I enjoy teaching math. I am a first grade teacher, so to me math should be a hands on activity where students are given manipulatives that they can use to help them solve the problems that they are given. Math is all around us and we use it every day. This is important for us, as educators, to help our students understand the importance of math and how every one uses it in their everyday lives. Being good at mathematics means that you are confident enough to solve problems and find solutions to everyday mathematical problems that may arise. Good math teachers present the mathematical information in many different ways for students. They allow students time to explore and then have the students explain how they arrived at the correct answer. They are patient and eager to step in and assist with learning when they see necessary.

This is Neil and I. He keeps me laughing and is my side kick!

This is my wonderful family, from left to right is, Laura, my mom, my dad, me, and Neil.
